Show Notes
THE REBIRTH
The Massive Gains Podcast is back. After a long hiatus, Steven Martinez relaunches the show with a new identity and a broader mission: fitness, mindset, and business.
The show first launched in 2020 and ran about 12 episodes into 2021, originally built around insurance and helping Medicare agents write more business. This relaunch keeps the name but widens the focus to real, well-rounded conversations on training, mental performance, and building a business, with featured guests along the way.
THE SECRET SAUCE: NO EXCEPTIONS
Steven breaks down the simple system behind staying consistent: a short list of daily "no exceptions" rules.
- Bedtime: the same time every night (10 PM for Steven).
- Wake time: the same time every day (up by 5, in the gym by 5, home by 7).
- Training: hit the gym or take an active rest day, every single day. No zero days.
- Bonus rule: no meals after 7 PM, which creates a three-hour window before bed.
The point is to set rules you can actually keep long term, then hold them with no exceptions.

What's up, guys? My name is Steven Martinez, and this is the Massive Gains Podcast. Welcome to the rebirth of the Massive Gains Podcast. I am excited to be here.
It has been a long hiatus for this show. We started it back in 2020, ran into 2021, and got about 12 episodes in before work got busy and things went quiet. Back then the Massive Gains Podcast was really about insurance: helping Medicare agents and sharing information to help them write more business. That is what it was built around. I had a co-host back then who I no longer work with. That was not my decision or his, it is just the way things worked out, and we are not able to communicate. So for now, it is just me.
I am going to bring you mindset, fitness, and business. That is the whole idea behind the Massive Gains Podcast going forward. When I started thinking about doing a podcast again, I did not even set out to bring this one back. I just knew I wanted to start a podcast, and that led me right back to what was formerly known as the Massive Gains Podcast. We are keeping the name. It never quite fit before, because we never talked about anything fitness related. I do not want this to be strictly fitness either. I want it to be well rounded: fitness, mindset, and business. I will bring on featured guests from all over as I revive and re-energize the show.
The plan is every other Tuesday, aiming for 5 o'clock Central. I tried to go live earlier today and the first couple of attempts did not work out. It happens. Thank you for being here. If you are on Facebook, follow along, and head over to the Massive Gains Podcast page.
So let's get into it. What is the secret sauce? Honestly, it has been going to the gym consistently and getting into the right mindset. Part of that is having a set of no-exceptions rules. I have them written on my whiteboard here.
No exceptions on bedtime. No matter what, you go to bed at the same time every night. For me that is 10 o'clock. That gives me the same wake-up time every day. Mine is early, 4:30, but at least up by 5, at the gym by 5, and home by 7, so I can get it all done and be ready for work, the kids, and the rest of the day.
No exceptions on training. Every single day I am either going to the gym or taking an active rest day. No questions asked. And the bonus rule: no meals after 7 o'clock. If I am in bed by 10, that gives me a three-hour window with nothing to eat. Your schedule may vary, but the point stands.
These are realistic, long-term goals. I cannot tell you I will never eat after 4 o'clock. You might hold that for a week, but you will not sustain it. We have to set rules we can actually keep. Bedtime, wake-up, and training, around whatever your work or family schedule looks like. There is no reason you cannot do these consistently. No exceptions. That is what gets my mindset where it needs to be.
